New Beach Volleyball Ball Starting January 2025 in Germany.
As of January 1, 2025, Wilson will become the new official ball partner of the German Volleyball Association (DVV) for beach volleyball. Wilson balls will be used in all tournaments of the German Beach Tour, the 2nd German Beach Tour, the German Beach Volleyball Championships, and other national competitions.
However, the previous partner, Mikasa, remains relevant: the Mikasa Beach Pro BV550C is the official game ball of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and is used in international tournaments such as European Championships, World Championships, and the Olympic Games.
Therefore, starting in 2025, Wilson balls will be used on the national level in Germany, while Mikasa balls will be employed on the international stage.
The Wilson ball is reportedly somewhat more affordable than the Mikasa ball, currently available online starting at approximately €55.68, including shipping.
