Sand Spectacle 2026: The German Beach Tour returns!

Temperatures might only be rising slowly, but planning for summer is in full swing. The German Beach Tour (GBT) 2026 promises to be one of the most exciting seasons in recent years. Particularly exciting for us: Berlin is cementing its status as one of the absolute hotspots of the tour.

Here are the facts you need to plan your season:

German Beach Volleyball Tour: All match dates

The 2026 GBT is sticking with continuity at tried-and-tested venues, but has a major change in store for the season finale. For the first time in history, the German Championship will not be held in Timmendorfer Strand, but in Dortmund. A bold move by the association that brings beach volleyball even deeper into urban centres.

Here is the complete tour calendar for 2026:

Tour Stop Berlin: Both Dates and Tickets

Berlin can look forward to another “double-header” event in 2026. Just like last year, the German beach volleyball elite will be returning to Funkhaus Beach in Köpenick. The location right on the Spree offers a unique atmosphere that combines sport and club culture.

The dates for Berlin:

  1. Stop 1: 04. bis 07. Juni 2026
  2. Stop 2: 11. bis 14. Juni 2026

Tickets & Access: Ticket sales for the Berlin stops already kicked off at the end of January. If you want to make sure you catch the weekend finals on centre court, you’d better get in quick, as weekend tickets usually get snapped up fast.

Prices & Tickets
Pricing: Day tickets for Saturday or Sunday are approximately €30, while the full weekend pass is around €50.
Free Admission: As usual, access to the event grounds and the side courts remains free of charge on all days. A paid ticket is only required if you want to guarantee a seat at the Center Court.
Where to Buy: Tickets are available exclusively online via the official portal at tickets.germanbeachtour.de.

Reality check: The German Championship moving to Dortmund is a shock for traditionalists, but it’s a chance for the sport to gain more visibility in the most populous state. For Berlin, the double event in June means we’ll see the teams in top form just before the business end of qualification begins.
