In 2020 we reported that Beach Mitte in Berlin had started building a new hall for indoor beach volleyball. This hall is now ready and can be used.
The hall has become very beautiful and was laid out with very fine white sand. When you walk over it it feels very soft and deep, you sink relatively deeply.
Overall, the hall consists of 2 fields that have been laid exactly parallel to each other. The only visible disadvantage is that the two fields are not very far from each other and to the back of each field, which means very little contact surface when serving the jump serve.
The further disadvantage is that the hall is relatively expensive: 98 € for 2 hours, while South Beach is offering it for € 80 for the same period. With four players it makes an impressive € 24.5 per 2 hours.
Many windows have been installed from one side in particular, which allows for bright lighting. In addition, the ceilings are also built with non-transparent windows, which are opaque but allow a lot of sunlight to pass through.
On the entrance side there is a staircase upstairs, where there are a number of seating options for spectators. We assume that drinks can also be ordered there in winter. Shower stalls and toilets are available here.
