Orientation

Which tournament suits me?

The three levels in the filter above match our own A1 to F3 rating system. Do not confuse them: the letters A, B and C in a tournament name are the category of the German Volleyball Federation, not your playing level. A C-Cup is their entry category, an A tournament the highest. If you are unsure, our article on playing levels A1 to F3 sorts it out in two minutes.

Beginner · A1–A3

Fun tournaments

You can pass and set and have played in the sand a few times. No licence, no player account, level assigned on site. Entry fee €24 to €32 per team.

Ambitious · F1–F2

C-Cups and mixed

Your first official tournament. Your build-up works against easy serves but still wobbles against powerful ones. You need a free DVV player account but collect your first ranking points without any prerequisite. Mixed ranking tournaments belong here too.

Advanced · F3

B, A and A+ tournaments

For settled teams that hold up against powerful serves and play tournaments regularly. Winners here compete for regional titles and qualification for the German championship.

Not sure where you stand? Our article Which level am I? A1 to F3 explained sorts out the playing levels, and Your first beach volleyball tournament describes what to expect on the day. If you want to train regularly, our weekly training at Beach 61 runs on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Common questions

Before you sign up

Do I need a licence to play a tournament in Berlin?

Not for fun tournaments at BeachMitte, Beach61 and Funkhaus Beach. You register as a pair, pay the entry fee and play. As soon as a tournament carries a category – C, B, A or A+ – you need a free player account in the beach portal of the German Volleyball Federation, because ranking points are awarded there.

What does a beach volleyball tournament in Berlin cost?

Fun tournaments cost €24 per team at BeachMitte and €32 per team at Beach61 – so €12 to €16 per person for a full day with at least eight sets. Ranking tournaments of the Beach Tour Berlin-Brandenburg are billed through the federation portal and cost more depending on category.

I have no partner. Can I still play?

A regular tournament needs a pair. Two routes still work: All You Can Beach at BeachMitte, where you find team-mates on site, and the free BeachTreff app, which shows open games and players across Berlin. In the King of the Beach format at BeachZone you even enter as an individual and play with changing partners.

Which tournament is right for my first time?

A Saturday fun tournament at Beach61 or BeachMitte. Both are open to all levels, there are no referees, and the rules are interpreted between the teams according to the level. You get at least four matches and are finished around 4 pm.

How current are the dates on this page?

We check every source each Tuesday – the federation system of the Beach Tour Berlin-Brandenburg, the entry lists of BeachMitte and Beach61 and the calendars of the other organisers. The date of the last check is shown directly above the list. Free places are a snapshot from that day; the organiser entry list is always the binding source.

Can I play tournaments in Berlin in winter?

Yes. From October to March the A-Cup Winter Series runs in the BeachMitte hall with ranking points and prize money, alongside the fun, grand and King of the Beach tournaments at BeachZone, the winter events at East61 near Südkreuz and regular play at Funkhaus Beach.

Sources: Beach Tour Berlin-Brandenburg (SAMS federation system), BeachMitte entry list, Beach61, Funkhaus Beach and the tournament calendar of Beach-Sports Berlin. Free places are a snapshot from the day of the check – the organiser entry list is always binding.
