We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

Liability for content

As a service provider we are responsible for our own content on these pages under general law, in accordance with § 7 (1) DDG. According to §§ 8 to 10 DDG, however, we are not obliged to monitor transmitted or stored third-party information or to investigate circumstances that indicate illegal activity. Obligations to remove or block the use of information under general law remain unaffected. We have not appointed a data protection officer, as the legal requirements for doing so do not apply to us. For any questions about data protection, please contact the address above.

2. Hosting and server log files

This website does not run on our own servers but with an external hosting provider. Each time a page is called up, the server automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser transmits:

  • the page requested on our domain
  • date and time of the server request
  • browser type and version
  • operating system used
  • the previously visited page (referrer URL)
  • the IP address of the device accessing the site
  • amount of data transferred

This data cannot be attributed to specific individuals and is not merged with other data sources. Processing is based on our legitimate interest in the technically error-free and secure operation of this website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Log files are deleted automatically after a short period, unless they are exceptionally needed to investigate an attack or a malfunction. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the hosting provider.

3. Encryption

For security reasons this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the padlock symbol in your browser’s address bar and by the address starting with “https”. Data you transmit to us cannot easily be read by third parties.

4. Cookies

Cookies are small text files that your browser stores on your device. This website uses technically necessary cookies that make the site work – for example to keep a booking together across several steps, to remember the language you selected, or to maintain a login in the editorial area. The legal basis is § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG in conjunction with our legitimate interest in a functioning website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

In addition, the analytics services described in sections 9 and 10 use cookies and similar technologies. You can set your browser to inform you about cookies, to allow them only in individual cases, to reject them generally, or to delete them automatically when the browser is closed. Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of this website.

5. Contact by form and e-mail

If you contact us via a form on this website or by e-mail, we process the information you provide – usually your name, your e-mail address and the content of your message – solely in order to handle your enquiry. The forms are operated with the WPForms plugin; entries are stored on our server and additionally forwarded to us by e-mail. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract or its initiation, otherwise our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). We delete the data once your enquiry has been dealt with conclusively and no statutory retention obligations apply.

6. Notification about new dates

On some pages you can enter your e-mail address to be informed about new camp and training dates. For this we process only your e-mail address. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can withdraw this consent at any time with effect for the future by sending a short message to info@berlin-beachvolleyball.de. After withdrawal we remove your address from the list.

7. Booking camps and training sessions

We use the Events Manager plugin for registrations to camps, training sessions and corporate events. We process the information you enter in the registration form: your name, your e-mail address, your phone number where applicable, the date you selected, the number of places and any remarks in the comment field. This data is stored on our server and serves solely to process your registration, to confirm it by e-mail and to organise the session on site.

The legal basis is the performance of the contract or pre-contractual measures (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). No online payment takes place via this website: we arrange payment personally by e-mail after your registration, so no payment service providers are integrated and we do not collect any payment data via the website. We keep registration data for as long as it is needed to run and invoice the session; statutory retention periods under commercial and tax law remain unaffected.

8. Comments

If you comment on an article on this website, we store your comment, the time it was made, the name you entered, your e-mail address and your IP address. We need the IP address to protect ourselves against spam and unlawful content. The legal basis is your consent given by submitting the comment (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in preventing misuse (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Comments and the associated data remain stored until the commented content is deleted in full or you ask us to delete them.

9. Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to evaluate how the website is used – for example which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay and roughly which region they access the site from. IP addresses are processed in shortened form and are not stored permanently. We use the evaluation to understand which content is in demand and to shape the website accordingly. Personalised advertising is disabled.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in analysing and improving our offering (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Google. You can prevent collection by Google Analytics by installing the browser add-on to disable Google Analytics: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. 10. Microsoft Clarity

We use Microsoft Clarity, a service provided by Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland. Clarity records how visitors use our website – for example mouse movements, clicks and scrolling – and generates aggregated heatmaps and session recordings from this. Entries in form fields are masked by default and are not transmitted in plain text. We use these evaluations to identify and fix usability problems. 11. Google Fonts

To display fonts consistently, this website embeds fonts from Google Fonts. When a page is called up, your browser loads the required fonts directly from servers operated by Google Ireland Limited or Google LLC. Your IP address is transmitted to Google in the process. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a consistent and appealing presentation of our content (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). 12. YouTube videos

On some pages we embed videos from YouTube, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. We use the extended data protection mode (youtube-nocookie.com): according to YouTube, no cookies with information about visitors are stored as long as you do not actively start a video. However, when you open a page with an embedded video, a connection to YouTube’s servers is established and your IP address, among other data, is transmitted. If you start a video while logged in to YouTube, Google can associate your browsing behaviour with your profile; you can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in an appealing presentation of our content (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Further information: policies.google.com/privacy.

13. Interactive map by BeachTreff (OpenStreetMap)

On some pages of this website we embed an interactive map of beach volleyball courts provided by the BeachTreff app. The map does not load automatically: you first see only a preview area, and the map is loaded only when you click “Load map”. Only then are map tiles retrieved from OpenStreetMap, a service of the OpenStreetMap Foundation, St John’s Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom. Your IP address is transmitted to OpenStreetMap in the process. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by clicking “Load map” (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR); you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future by not loading the map again. 14. Transfer to the USA

With the services named in sections 9 to 12, personal data – in particular your IP address – may be transferred to servers in the USA. The providers are Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, and Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052, USA. Both companies are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which the EU Commission has issued an adequacy decision pursuant to Art. 45 GDPR. In addition, we have agreed the EU Commission’s standard contractual clauses pursuant to Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR with these providers.

Please note that under US law, US authorities may access data under certain conditions and that a level of legal protection equivalent to that in the EU is not guaranteed in every case.

15. Retention period

We process and store your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the respective purpose. The data is then deleted, unless statutory retention obligations – for example under commercial or tax law – prevent this. Where processing is based on your consent, we delete the data after you withdraw it, unless another legal basis continues to apply.

16. Your rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access (Art. 15 GDPR): you can ask for confirmation as to whether we process data concerning you and receive information about that data.
  • Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR): you can request the correction of inaccurate data and the completion of incomplete data.
  • Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR): you can request that we delete your data, provided there is no reason for further processing.
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR): you can request that we restrict processing.
  • Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR): you can receive the data you provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
  • Objection (Art. 21 GDPR): for reasons arising from your particular situation, you can object at any time to processing that we base on a legitimate interest.
  • Withdrawal of consent (Art. 7 (3) GDPR): you can withdraw consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out up to that point.

An informal message to info@berlin-beachvolleyball.de is sufficient for all of these requests.

17. Right to lodge a complaint

Irrespective of the above, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit), Alt-Moabit 59-61, 10555 Berlin, Germany. You may also contact the supervisory authority in your place of habitual residence.

18. Provision of your data

Providing your personal data is neither required by law nor by contract. However, without the information marked as required in the registration or contact form, we cannot process your registration or enquiry. Automated decision-making, including profiling, does not take place.
