Weekly beach volleyball training in Berlin – small groups, fixed slots
Two fixed sessions a week at Beach 61 by Gleisdreieck, no more than eight people per group, level A2 to A3. Open to individuals – no club membership, no annual contract and no need to bring your own group.
In short: we train on Mondays from 19:30 to 21:00 and on Tuesdays from 15:00 to 17:00 at Beach 61 in Berlin-Kreuzberg. The monthly package covers four sessions and costs €95 (Monday, 4 sessions) or €109 (Tuesday, 5 sessions). We play at level A2 to A3 – meaning you can pass and set and have played a few times. You can sign up directly on this page.
Two training times in September
Both groups train at the same place with the same coaching team. The difference is the time of day and the length – pick whichever fits your week.

Why a monthly package instead of single sessions? Because beach volleyball does not improve in one session. A fixed group over four weeks means the coach knows your movement, you get a correction in week three that builds on week one, and you play with people whose strengths you eventually learn to read. A single session simply cannot deliver that.
No warm-up circle followed by free play
Every session has a focus that is set in advance. Across the month we cover the four areas that cost the most points on sand: passing, setting, attacking options and defence.
Arriving
Warm-up in the sand, ball feel, a short agreement. Sand loads the stabilising muscles in ankles and core far more than an indoor floor – so we warm up more thoroughly than you may be used to.
Technique block
One focus per week with individual corrections. In a group of eight everyone gets direct feedback several times – that is the real difference from playing freely in the park.
Game forms
What you practised, under pressure. Small courts, many ball contacts, real game situations. Mastering a technique off a toss is not mastering it.
What level A2 to A3 actually means
We use the six-step A1 to F3 level system that has become established in German beach volleyball. A2 and A3 are the steps between “has tried it once” and “plays tournaments regularly”.
| This applies to you | Then you are in the right place |
|---|---|
| You can pass and set – not perfectly, but the ball mostly goes where you intended | ✓ |
| You have played on sand a few times and know the basic rules | ✓ |
| You come from indoor and want to find your feet on sand | ✓ |
| You play in the park but cannot get further on your own | ✓ |
| You have never touched a volleyball | Too early – start with a beginner camp |
| You play ranking tournaments at B or C level | Not demanding enough – ask about individual coaching |
Not sure? The level guide from A1 to F3 describes all six steps with concrete markers. And if it is still unclear: write us how often you play and what you can do – we will tell you honestly whether the group fits.
Which one gets you further, faster?
Both work, but differently. A camp is a jump, weekly training is a curve. Most people who really improve on sand end up doing both.
| Weekly training | Weekend camp | |
|---|---|---|
| Rhythm | Every week, over months | One-off, two days in a row |
| Effect | Habits change for good because they are corrected weekly | A fast boost, a lot of new input at once |
| Volume | 6 to 10 hours per month | around 12 hours over one weekend |
| Price | from €95 a month | €225 per camp |
| Good if | you live in Berlin and want to keep at it | you want an intensive start or a gift |
Many use the camp as an entry point and weekly training to consolidate. See all camp dates →

Before you book
What does beach volleyball training in Berlin cost?
The monthly package costs €95 on Mondays (4 sessions of 1.5 hours) and €109 on Tuesdays (5 sessions of 2 hours). Court hire, coaching and balls are included. There are no further costs.
Can I book single sessions?
Not in September, at least at first. We are deliberately starting with fixed groups because the training effect over four weeks is considerably greater. If enough people ask for single sessions, we will add that later.
What happens if I miss a session?
Let us know in advance and somebody moves up from the waiting list. You can make up a missed session the following month as long as there is a free place.
Does training happen in the rain?
Yes. Beach volleyball works in the rain, and the sand actually becomes more pleasant. We only cancel for thunderstorms or high winds – then the session is rescheduled.
Do I need my own equipment?
No. We provide the balls. You need sportswear, sunscreen, water and sand socks if you like. Playing barefoot is normal on sand.
Do I have to join a club?
No. You book a month, nothing more. No membership, no notice period, no obligation for the following month.
Can I join as an indoor player?
Very much so. Indoor players bring ball feel and a sound arm swing and mainly need the sand-specific adjustments: single-leg take-off, bump setting, shots instead of hard swings, dealing with wind. That is exactly what we work on. More in the article From indoor to sand.
Does it continue in October?
Yes, planned until the end of October, after which we move indoors. Anyone who trained in September gets first refusal on their place.
How do I find people to play with outside training?
Through the BeachTreff app and the Berlin playing groups. There is an overview at Playing beach volleyball in Berlin.
Eight places per group
In September we start with two groups and 16 places in total. Whether a third slot follows depends on demand.
